Games and playing
Playing is a basic characteristic of humans, and is present in all cultures and ideas. Playing is how children naturally learn, but it is not just restricted to children. The characteristics of games and playing are often intertwined, but playing is freer, whilst games follow rules. Games can feature cards, a board or a ball, for example. The path of a game can also be affected by the choices and strategies of the players, chance, and – in the case of sports games – physical ability. Games and playing are also always taking on new forms.
