Music and dance

From Elävän perinnön wikiluettelo

Dancing, singing and playing instruments are forms of expression which are practised in a huge range of contexts: alone or together, at work or in free time, privately or publicly, as part of a ceremony or festivity, in the face of sorrow or love. Dancing is an art form where a person moves their body, usually rhythmically to music, in order to produce an aesthetic experience, have fun, as a social activity, or to express something through the dance. In Finland living heritage comes in many forms of dance, from folk dance to ballroom dancing – even synchronised swimming or martial arts can be seen as dance.
